This is our list of fifteen great holiday parks that you can stay at across New Zealand. These have been chosen based on one per area, there are more options across the country, but we have limited ourselves to one from each. The list goes from the top of the North Island to the bottom of the South Island.

Bay of Islands Holiday Park
A 10-minute drive from Paihia and Kerikeri, this is a great place to stay when exploring the Bay. Located on 4.2 hectares of land, with plenty of accommodation options and lots of facilities onsite, this is a relaxing place to stay during your Bay of Islands trip, for a bargain price! Talk with staff to arrange a cruise around the Bays or day trips further North.

Miranda Holiday Park

This Holiday Park is a great place to base yourself if you want to explore different areas of the Coromandel during the day and return somewhere relaxing at night. The park has many different types of accommodation as well as a hot mineral pool, BMX track and mini golf course. If you book at least two nights during the week you can also get a third night free until December 2020! Bird watchers can head to Pūkorokoro Miranda Shorebird Centre. Auckland is only an hour’s drive away!

Rotorua TOP 10 Holiday Park

Located right next to Kuira Park, Rotorua’s free Geothermal reserve, this 5-Star Holiday Park is a must stay. With amazing accommodation, facilities and deals all year round – not to mention a Mineral Pool Complex surrounded by native plants, spectacularly lit up at night.

Ohope Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park

Located right on the beach, choose from beachfront apartments, motels by the pool or garden, or standard cabins and non-powered campsites. Located six kilometres from Whakatane, Ohope beach has been voted NZ’s most loved beach due to its 11km stretch of North-facing beach that sees the sun for long stretches of the day and sheltered waters that make it one of NZ’s safest.

Waikanae Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park

With a prime location right on the beachfront of Gisborne, this Holiday Park gives you easy access to a heated indoor swimming pool, surf beaches, water gear hire, lawn games, games room and many other facilities. Close-by are the Botanical Gardens, Cook’s landing site, and Rere rockslide. Accommodation includes motels, self-contained units, beach baches, apartments, cabins and tent sites.

Lake Taupo Holiday Resort
The main reason we can recommend this is because it has New Zealand's first Thermally Heated Lagoon Style Pool with Swim Up Bar & Cafe! Come for that novelty and stay in incredible motels, cabins, units and powered/non-powered sites.

Opunake Beach Kiwi Holiday Park
Fantastic and affordable beachfront accommodation, 50 minutes from New Plymouth. This is a great spot to come to in summer to enjoy a weekend away from the city and stay in West Coast comfort right across from the beach. A great place to stay if you are interested in learning to surf or to visit the historic theatre.

Martinborough TOP 10 Holiday Park
With boutique wineries and classy restaurants nearby, this is the place to go if you are a University student looking for a weekend away from New Zealand’s capital city. It also has a climate that is almost always warmer than Wellington (and far less windy). Book an apartment, cabin, studio, or a site. Use the facilities on offer and stay during one of Martinborough’s many events.

Golden Bay Holiday Park
Located on the beach in the centre of Golden Bay, this is the place to come for a true experience away from crowds, cities and lights. It’s a chance to gaze up into a night sky completely unpolluted by light. Choose a cabin, apartment or camping site at an affordable price. Kitchens and showers are communal, and water is from a private scheme so costs. Things to see nearby include; Archway Rocks at Wharariki Beach, Cape Farewell, Waikoropupu Springs, The Langford Store and Farewell Spit.

Blenheim TOP 10 Holiday Park
Apart from an 11 bedroom lodge that would suit a school group, University/sports club or large group of friends, accommodation on offer includes; park motels, self-contained units, studio/disabled access units, kitchen units and standard cabins. Take a trip to the Marlborough Sounds, Queen Charlotte track or one of the many wineries in the area.

Haast River Motels & Holiday Park
With studios, apartments, bunk rooms and powered/unpowered sites, this park is located alongside the river and provides affordable and basic accommodation. Haast is officially classified as a World Heritage area and is great for students that love the outdoors.

Alpine Adventure Holiday Park, Hanmer Springs
A place that comes to life in winter but can still be enjoyed in summer, Hanmer Springs Alpine Adventure Holiday Park has chalets, flats, kitchen cabins, standard cabins (shared kitchen), and non-powered cabins to stay in. For larger groups, the Bell Bird lodge is available to use, with 40 beds across five rooms. The adventures you can go on are handily located close by and include; Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa, Hanmer Springs Bungy and Hanmer Springs jet boats, canoeing, kayaking and quad bikes.

Lake Tekapo Motels & Holiday Park
Perfectly placed next to the lake, there are many styles of accommodation to choose, from baches, to dorms, to glamping, and even tent sites. The sites are all affordable and this an ideal place to come if you are looking to relax in South Island serenity.

Wanaka Kiwi Holiday Park & Motels
Designed to be enjoyed in both summer and winter, you definitely should come here if you are looking for a sustainable and memorable stay. A short walk away from lake Wanaka and the most photographed tree in New Zealand, and a close drive to mountain bike mountains in summer and ski fields in the winter.

Invercargill TOP 10 Holiday Park
The Southernmost Holiday Park on our list has a focus on low-key communal living, with communal kitchen and shower facilities for all guests that choose the cheaper cabins, powered and non-powered site options. There are also motel units, self-contained units and ensuite units, for those that prefer their own bathroom. Nearby attractions include a heated swimming pool, seaward bush reserve and Queens park.
